In the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda and yoga, the human body is greater than just the muscles and bones – it is a vibrant network with energy centers known as the chakras. The seven chakras are the spinning wheels full of energy influencing our spiritual, emotional and physical wellbeing.
Among the seven chakras is the fourth chakra otherwise known as the Heart Chakra or Anahata. Connected to survival and earthly needs it is a bridge between the spiritual and physical needs of the lower and upper chakras.
When it is balanced and open, it allows us to receive and give love without conditions or fear. We know how to forgive, set boundaries, and feel empathy. When it is overactive or blocked, it can result in difficulty trusting others, emotional pain, resentment, jealousy, and isolation.
